Member audits are scheduled for 2020

Members who are scheduled to have an audit this year can expect to receive a letter from the association’s Compliance Team shortly, confirming details about the visit and what will be involved.

450 new and existing member audits were carried out during 2019 and according to the annual Member Survey 91% of members undergoing an inspection used the feedback to improve their business.

Rental members may be selected for an unannounced visit. This means the auditor will not schedule a date with the member and can show up without notice.

Rental visits should take no longer than two to three hours and will inconvenience members’ businesses as little as possible.

Leasing broker members can expect their visit to be anywhere between three and seven hours, depending on the size of their business. This will include a sampling review of sales files and customer complaints in line with BVRLA requirements.

If you have any questions about the BVRLA Audit Programme, you can contact the Compliance Team.
