TOM Forum focuses on EV repairs

The first of the BVRLA’s 2022 series of Technical and Operational Management (TOM) Forums will take place online on 3 February with an EV body repair and tyre theme. Members are invited to sign up now.

Throughout the year, the association gathers industry experts and practitioners from across its membership to encourage discussion and debate, while sharing insights and best practice at its Forums.

The agenda at the TOM Forum will include:

  • Steve Howat of Continental Tyres session will touch on why it is important with EVs to have the right tyres, what is the impact if you do not and why EV tyres are more expensive

  • A session from Thomas Hudd of the National Body Repair Association will include the cost and time for repair of EVs when compared to an ICE equivalent, as well as details on the skills shortages for EV repairs and steps being taken to address this

  • Expert panellists from i247, Fleet Assist and IMS will focus on the latest trends including garage usage, volumes, staffing, parts supply, new OEM entrants and 2022 predictions.

During 2022 there will be three TOM Forums and members can send up to two delegates to each one by paying an annual subscription of £500+VAT. It is intended that Forums later in the year will be held in-person rather than online, Covid restrictions permitting.

There will also be three RVR Forums taking place throughout the year, with the first on 10 February.
