Important reminders from FCA on AR reporting

From December 2023, members with Appointed Representatives (ARs) must confirm their details when completing the annual Firm Details Attestation (FDA) for the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Firms must attest the details of all ARs including:

  • if they have more than one principal
  • if their details haven’t changed from last year or have been recently updated.

FDAs must be completed within 60 business days of the Annual Referencing Date (ARD). Failure to report will incur a late return notification, £250 late return fee, and possible enforcement action.

From 1 December, all principal firms will need to send the FCA regular data about their ARs using the REP205 form in RegData.

When to report AR data will depend on the member's account referencing date (ARD). Failure to report on time will incur a late return notification and a £250 administration fee.
