Rental inspections resume

Rental members are being advised that face-to-face inspections are resuming and will be carried out by Prestige Fleet Servicing, from the AA.

The inspectors have strict processes to follow and will be fully equipped with PPE and sanitisation materials. Those who have been selected for inspection will receive an email from the BVRLA and the inspectors will be in touch directly to arrange a suitable date and to confirm that the branch will be adequately staffed.

If branches are not open, please advise BVRLA as soon as possible.

New questions have been added to the inspection to strengthen the rental inspection programme. The new questions cover:

  • Access and parking for disabled customers
  • ‘No Smoking’ awareness
  • Appearance/Cleanliness of premises/vehicles
  • COVID19 measures
  • PAT checks
  • First Aid
  • Reporting of suspicious behaviour
  • Child seat processes and maintenance
  • ICO – Data Protection
  • Fuel bunkering procedures and calibration
  • Management and process for hazardous waste

The additional areas being covered, and the extra time being taken to ensure Covid safety, means that the inspection may take longer than usual and are anticipated to last around 3 hours.
