New course: Implementing the new Consumer Duty in your brokerage

The BVRLA would like to introduce a brand-new course to offer practical steps and best practice in the implementation of the new Consumer Duty, with the first course date coming up on 26 October.

The course is aimed at small vehicle leasing brokerages and daily rental firms who do some regulated business. It is also suitable for those responsible for compliance in larger firms.

With a tight implementation timeline, the course will introduce a project-planning tool to help you meet the scheduled milestones. Taking some typical products and services in vehicle leasing, the course will help you analyse your fair value assessments and work through examples of relevant narratives for customer understanding. The course will help you map the customer journey with the four outcomes and cross-cutting rules in mind.

A typical supply chain will be reviewed, and proposals for how you might work with them, and the information you should expect to receive from them. Vulnerable customers will be covered, and the characteristics of vulnerability. Terminology will be discussed that’s recently entered the industry’s vocabulary because of these new obligations.

Course trainer Andy Rayner has a proven track record of working with large corporate organisations such as Ford, Leaseplan UK Ltd and Toyota Financial Services to name a few. Andy has a strong passion and knowledge for ensuring businesses are compliant and doing the most for their customers, through designing and delivering engaging, commercially focused learning. Delivering training to thousands of learners, his experience is a great asset to the BVRLA Training team.

Course dates coming up are 26 October, 10 November, and 17 November.
