Fair Wear & Tear Standard for HGVs review

Every four years the BVRLA reviews the Fair Wear and Tear Standard and Guide for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. The latest review is about to begin, and the association is inviting HGV members to join the working group.

It is proposed that two meetings will be held in Amersham, with the first due to take place in early July. Members are invited to use their opportunity to influence and send a representative to participate in the working group or alternatively send in any thoughts for review.

The group will consider in some detail why customers complain and what they complain about. There will also be a discussion regarding what members currently supply to customers in the form of;

  • pre-contract information,
  • in-life advice and guidance,
  • the transparency of the de-fleet process,
  • what’s fair when it comes to end of contract charges.

If you would like to take part in the working group or have any questions, email [email protected].
