Two pieces of guidance, spanning what is required for vehicle movement between GB mainland and Northern Ireland, and staying compliant with consumer regulations on unfair trading practices, are now available to members.
The ‘Windsor Framework for Vehicle Movement’ has been in place since 1 May 2025. There may be some difficult requirements for members dependant on where they sit in the distribution chain, but the guidance and vehicle movement flowchart should support you with understanding this.
The ‘Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 – Unfair Commercial Practices’ factsheet focuses on the Unfair Commercial Practices section of the Act which came into force on 6 April 2025.
The provisions replace and update the existing ‘Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations’ from 2008. The provisions aim to eliminate bad practices such as drip pricing, fake reviews, hidden fees and unbalanced contract terms.
