Line up of expert speakers for Compliance Forum

Carrying on the successful model of the association’s existing Forums, the BVRLA’s first Compliance Forum is taking place on Thursday 20 April in London at law firm Shoosmiths. It will focus on ‘Compliance in the Age of Consumer Duty’. Topics covered include Commissions, Consumer Duty, CCA reform and the future regulatory framework of motor finance.

Speakers for the inaugural Compliance Forum include Roger Potgieter, Partner at Shoosmiths giving a deep dive on Commissions; and Stephen Adams, Senior Director at Global Counsel with a presentation on CCA reform.

The Consumer Duty panel session will feature:

  • Polly Ashford, Manager, Retail and Motor Finance at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
  • Richard West, Director of Casework at the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS)
  • Lynda Gibson, Head of Compliance at Fleet Alliance
  • Wayne Gibbard, Commercial Clients and Strategy at Shoosmiths
  • Charlie Morris, Senior Manager, Audit & Assurance at Deloitte.

The motor finance panel will feature:

  • Richard Hubbard, Group Finance and Insurance Director at Cambria
  • Adrian Dally, Director of Motor Finance and Strategy at the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA)
  • Lauren Pamma, Programme Director at the Green Finance Institute (GFI)
  • Richard Humphreys, Director at DWF Law
  • Joss Tasker, Octopus EV.

The BVRLA’s 2023 Compliance Forum programme is supported by specialist legal firms Shoosmiths LLP and DWF Law LLP, who will host the forums and provide access to sector experts.

BVRLA Forums are run on a subscription-based model. Members can subscribe to the full Compliance Forum programme via the BVRLA website. An annual subscription costs £500 + VAT (£300 + VAT for SMEs) and includes two tickets for each of the three events in 2023.
