BVRLA response to consultation on competition and consumer policy

The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy has consulted on reforms to the current competition regime in the UK in order to increase healthy competition in markets and better consumer rights protection.

The BVRLA has submitted a principled response to the Department's proposals for a new competition regime, stating we favour a consultative regime which promotes open discussion with firms to tackle anti-competitive behaviour in markets.

Our response also supports proposals around mandating Alternative Dispute Resolution services in the motor vehicles sector, provided more granularity is given for how this would work in practice.
