Staff personal development is key

According to the 2023 BVRLA Industry Outlook report, training, career development, salaries and cost-of-living bonuses have all come under the spotlight as employers fight to recruit and retain staff.

In the report, staff training and development is the number one investment priority for almost a fifth (19%) of leasing companies. Rental companies are feeling the pressure to recruit and retain staff, with 58% identifying this as their number one HR challenge for 2023.

One solution is to give employees an immediate sense of a career trajectory, with training that reinforces the message that your business offers long terms prospects.

The BVRLA’s Learning & Development offering is tailored to support the sector through operational and compliance training. Last year, over 6,400 individuals received formal training from the BVRLA via e-Learning, instructor-led training or on-demand courses. On-demand courses can be tailored for your business, covering several topics such as Electric Vehicle Operational training, Fair Wear & Tear support, Penalty Charge Notice training and support for all levels of business on Consumer Duty.
