Get ready for the final Consumer Duty deadline

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)’s Consumer Duty regime isn’t something where you can tick the Consumer Duty box on your to-do list and move on. It’s something that needs to become part of your firm’s culture, and how you do business, running across your whole organisation from product design to communications and customer support.

It has been nearly four months since the 31 July deadline and FCA regulated members need to make sure and be able to show the regulator that they are delivering good consumer outcomes. This will include your implementation plan, data and monitoring, your internal assessments, and how you are preparing for the closed products deadline of 31 July 2024.

The BVRLA offers several training courses - both instructor-led and e-learning - covering Consumer Duty, with the association’s experienced trainer and compliance expert Andy Rainer at the helm.

There are currently three instructor-led courses bookable for December 2023 in the BVRLA training calendar:

The Essentials e-learning package and Managers & Compliance e-learning package both contain modules focusing on Consumer Duty.
