DVLA to process Plug-In Grant appeals

Due to the changes to the Plug-in Grant introduced in March, members may have a small number of vehicles that the manufacturer claimed the grant for on behalf of the dealer and the vehicles are now ready for delivery.

These vehicles are now waiting to be delivered as members await confirmation from the Government as to whether or not the Grant has been approved.

The DVLA is expecting to complete the process of reviewing, approving or rejecting vehicles during the week commencing 17 May. The DVLA expects to notify vehicle manufacturers of the outcome of their appeals during that week, who will then notify individual dealers.

For vehicles now priced above the cap and no longer on the grant portal, the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles or the DVLA will inform vehicle manufacturers of the window for dealers/portal users to add claims which have been approved to the portal. This will be a very limited period of time. Vehicle manufacturers will be asked to disseminate information to their dealers on a) which of their claims have been approved b) the time period for putting these claims on the portal (where applicable).

The DVLA will then be double checking that only approved orders have been added to the portal, adjusting rates to the old grant rate and inviting vehicle manufacturers to add registration details (where vehicles have been registered) so that orders can progress for payment.
