Consultation on modernising consumer credit legislation

The BVRLA was pleased to see the recent announcement of the Consumer Credit Act (CCA) Reform consultation by HM Treasury.

The consultation provides background information on the Consumer Credit Act, setting out the case for reforms as well as the principles and objectives that will underpin them.

This will enable industry to engage with HM Treasury on how current and future credit regulation rules contained within the CCA will impact members. The BVRLA will now take stock of the publication with its members and looks forward to engaging with HM Treasury in the coming weeks.

The consultation closes on 17 March 2023, if you would like the BVRLA to include your views in its response, email [email protected].

Details on the Reform of the Consumer Credit Act: consultation can be found on the GOV.UK website.
