As part of the wholesale updates to the e-learning platform, the BVRLA has secured Specialist Automotive Finance (SAF) accreditation to help members keep compliant.
Changes to the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA)’s Lending Code come into effect from January 2023. It is a requirement for FLA members to deal only with SAF-accredited Leasing Brokers and National Franchised Dealerships. According to the FLA’s Lending Code, all customer-facing staff selling and advising on consumer vehicle finance must be competent and evidence their competence on an annual basis.
The BVRLA obtained SAF Expert Equivalence Status for its learning materials on 20 October 2022. The BVRLA’s unique selling point is its focus on regulatory and leasing products backed up by its inspection programme.
See information on SAF Equivalence Providers.
The association will be giving members a choice of e-learning packages, either Essentials or Expert. The ‘Expert’ package is SAF equivalent and includes modules Anti-Bribery, Anti-Money Laundering, Complaints Handling, CONC, GDPR, Fraud Avoidance, Financial Crime Prevention, Personal Conflicts of Interest, Safeguarding, TCF, Whistleblowing, and Intro to SM&CR.
The BVRLA will let members know of the launch date of its new ‘Expert’ SAF equivalent package in the coming weeks.
