Back by popular demand, Economist Brian Hilliard will reprise his update on the UK’s financial health at the upcoming Leasing Broker Conference on 21 June.
Brian, Chief UK Economist at Societe Generale, will give insight into the likely key trends and developments for the second half of 2023 and into 2024.
A highly experienced economist, Brian’s insights and expertise will help leasing brokers make sense of what is going on and understand what that means for them. Brian joined Societe Generale in 1990 from Westpac Banking Corporation Europe where he was Head of Economics and Market Research from 1980. Previously, he was a Research Economist within the Monetary Policy Group of the Bank of England having been a Lecturer in Macroeconomics at the University of Manchester. He also has experience as a commodity analyst with the Commodities Research Unit (CRU). He holds a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Southampton and a degree in Economics with Statistics from the University of Bristol.
After his spot at October’s conference was driven by the fallout from the ‘mini budget’ delivered under Liz Truss, June’s update is expected to reflect a steadier, yet still highly challenging, picture. After a short presentation and analysis of what the numbers are showing us, BVRLA leasing brokers in attendance will have the chance to put questions to Brian directly.
Leasing Broker members can now reserve their free place for the conference on Wednesday 21 June, taking place at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
The other key topics discussed will include compliance, Consumer Duty, emerging business models, technology, and an overview of new vehicle trends. Entrepreneur and motivational speaker David Hieatt will close the conference.
Book your ticket on the BVRLA website. Partners for the 2023 Conference include Motor Complete, Leasing.com, Leasys, Fleet Procure, QV Systems, DAVIS, Hypervolt and Broker News.
