The importance of signing up to the Rental Vehicle Security Scheme

The BVRLA’s Chief Executive Gerry Keaney recently wrote to rental and commercial vehicle members who are yet to sign up to the RVSS (the Department for Transport’s Rental Vehicle Security Scheme), to emphasise the importance of taking part in this important counter terrorism initiative.

Signing up to the RVSS will send out the right message to customers, employees and the community.

The association provides support for the scheme including training, guidance and best practice templates for members.

Two years on from the appalling London Bridge attack involving a hire van, the recent coroner’s inquest and press coverage reinforces the need for the vehicle rental sector to be more proactive in countering terrorism.
