Review of the Residual Value and Remarketing Forum

Over 70 BVRLA members from 40 different organisations attended last week’s Residual Value and Remarketing Forum, sponsored by Copart, which was held in Birmingham.

The RVR forum supports the many aspects of determining residual value risk, including pre-procurement, best practice in vehicle collection and vehicle resale.

Attendees heard from speakers who updated members on:

  • The work Copart do in relation to salvage vehicles.
  • Current trends Cox Automotive are seeing at their auctions and work on Air Quality.
  • Future trends for commercial vehicles from cap hpi – who anticipate that operators will hold onto their Euro V stock longer and not make the switch to Euro 6 compliant vehicles yet.
  • Update on Brexit and what members will need to be aware of if there is a ‘no deal’ situation, for example, documentation when driving abroad.

Comments from attendees were positive, one said “The speaker analysis and opinions were valuable and provided us with a comparison and support of our own outlook.”

Those who couldn’t attend can view a selection of presentations from the day via the BVRLA website.

The next Residual Value and Remarketing Forum will be held in Wakefield in June.
