Response to CMA study into EV Charging

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has sought the views of the industry for a study that they are conducting into the electric vehicle charging market.

The CMA has been particularly keen to seek views on two themes:

  1. developing competition while incentivising investment
  2. effective consumer interaction with the sector.

In its 10-page consultation response, the BVRLA stressed the important role that members are playing in driving road transport decarbonisations, and highlighted that issues with pricing, payment, universal access, and accessibility are still key issues that need to be addressed.

The association has expressed a keen interest to work with the CMA as it progresses the study and will keep members updated on any further engagement opportunities that may arise.

Details of all current consultations and copies of previous responses can be read in full on the Consultations page of the BVRLA website.
