HM Treasury published their Net Zero Review: Interim report at the end of 2020. The BVRLA submitted feedback on the report to the Net Zero Review Team at HMT.
The BVRLA feedback stressed three key points:
- The need to reform Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) as soon as possible
- HMT must give cost certainty around transport taxes to drive decarbonisation
- Creative policy thinking is required to reach net zero
