Insights on the latest trends for automotive retail

Anthony Machin of Glass’s Information Services has shared his insights on the latest trends and outlook for automotive retail via a webinar for BVRLA members.

Anthony talks about ‘five things you need to know post lockdown’ and touches on Brexit. He looks at the trends in Europe for new car registrations, the 40% drop in 2020 (year to date) and the Global GDP estimate down to -4.8%.

Giving the UK outlook, Anthony observes that there is a significantly lower level of vehicle auctions and retail dealers selling stock due to impact of Covid-19, although June has seen increased demand for vehicles.

Glass’s forecast for new and used car sales in 2020 is -30%.
