Latest figures from the Auto Trader Retail Price Index show that the average price of a used car in the UK is continuing to grow, up 5% on the same period last year.
In September, the average price of a used diesel was £14,360, representing an annual increase of 2%, contradicting recent reports that suggested that the price of used diesels was in decline.
Attracting over 55 million visits each month across all its platforms, Auto Trader can provide an accurate picture of demand trends in the new and used car marketplace.
Despite the ongoing decline in diesel new car registrations, diesel remains the most searched for fuel type on Auto Trader, indicating that vehicle owners concur with the BVRLA’s view that diesel still has an important role to play.
The Auto Trader Retail Price Index combines and analyses data from around 500,000 trade used car listings every day, as well as additional dealer forecourt and website data.
