The BVRLA SM&CR Development Programme

Since last year members have had a 12-month transitional period from the FCA in which to complete the Senior Manager and Certification Regime process for existing Certified Staff, and to train other staff on the Conduct Rules. With the deadline of the 9th of December rapidly approaching, the BVRLA have put together a comprehensive SM&CR Development Programme to support all members with this change.

Who should attend?

Whether a small or large business, the move to SM&CR is one of the most significant changes the industry has seen. This will not only impact your procedures, but also the culture of your business. Anyone with responsibility for the implementation for the regime will benefit from attending including Senior Managers responsible for compliance, HR, legal and operations.

Course content

The 5 step Programme aims to incorporate expert guidance alongside independent learning which can all be completed during times of remote working.

The five steps are as follows:

Step 1: Check your Business Type with the FCA Checker in support with the BVRLA SM&CR factsheet.

Step 2: Choose from three modules covering SM&CR content on the BVRLA e-Learning platform that are tailored to your business type.

Step 3: Attend the BVRLA SM&CR Development Programme interactive webinar with compliance expert Tony Doidge. Have any questions answered that have arisen from your prior learning and receive guidance on your next steps as a business.

Step 4: Be issued with an example Statement of Responsibility and be tasked with creating your own.

Step 5: Attend a BVRLA SM&CR Development Programme question and answer session with the BVRLA Compliance team. They will provide insight to the BVRLA Inspection Programme, and how the content and expectations have changed in light of the change to SM&CR.

Dates and locations

The next interactive webinar will be taking place on the 21st July 2020, and learners will be given the tools to complete Steps 1 and 2 prior to this.

In light of recent events the BVRLA have introduced special pricing on this unique 5 step package to fully support our members.

It is vital that learners have access to the BVRLA Managers & Compliance package on our e-Learning platform in order to complete the programme. This package not only contains 3 modules focusing on SM&CR but also 9 further modules to support your business compliance.

Learners who already have access to the BVRLA’s Managers & Compliance package simply need to purchase the programme at a cost of £75 + VAT

Those learners who do not have access to the module, will need to purchase this at the 2019 held price of £59.95 + VAT and then purchase the programme at a cost of £75 + VAT.

As usual, lovely people to deal with who make a difficult topic straight forward. I wish this had been around last year and you would have saved me lots of money and time! It was nice to feel comfortable enough to ask my questions without the embarrassment of showing that I don’t already know. A great programme, well done all involved.
