Pressure points in EV progress

As fleets continue to lead the transition to zero-emission vehicles, the pace of progress is being tested by policy uncertainty, infrastructure challenges, and market complexity. The BVRLA’s Fleets in Charge Conference returns for a sixth year to help members make sense of it all.

Taking place in Westminster on 2 July 2025, this one-day event brings together industry leaders and policymakers to explore the future of fleet decarbonisation under the timely theme: Changing Demand or Demanding Change?

The agenda will feature key voices from across the sector, including Richard Bruce from the Department for Transport, Edmund King from the AA, Dr Vicky Edmonds of EVA England, Vicky Read from Charge UK, Lisa Brankin of Ford, and Ian Plummer from Auto Trader.

BVRLA Chief Executive Toby Poston said: “We are at a pivotal moment. The industry is making huge strides, but it’s doing so against a backdrop of mixed messages, global headwinds, and local challenges. Fleets in Charge is where leaders come together to clear the fog and accelerate momentum.”

Sessions will cover:

  • Government policy and regulatory developments
  • EV infrastructure and investment gaps
  • The evolving used EV market
  • AI in vehicle servicing and support
  • Changing customer expectations
  • The skills needed to support the transition.

With interactive discussions and plenty of opportunities for networking, Fleets in Charge offers a platform for members to engage directly with those shaping the future of the fleet sector.
