Post Office secures DVLA services deal

Post Office Counters will continue to provide DVLA services, after a deal was struck to end speculation over the services being removed.

BVRLA members rely on the Post Office Counter service to tax vehicles which cannot be taxed in bulk online. This includes HGVs, electric vehicles, and any vehicle over 43 years old.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has awarded Post Office Ltd a contract to continue to provide these DVLA services, starting from 1 April 2024 for one year, with potential for extensions.

Whilst the news is welcomed, it does not address the underlying concern that there is no bulk service available from the DVLA to tax these vehicles. The BVRLA will be pushing for this to be introduced as soon as practical.
