Electric vehicle and renewable energy campaign group FairCharge, together with the RAC, has published an electric car charter aiming to improve the reliability, transparency, accessibility, and usability of the UK’s rapidly growing charging network.
The FairCharge Public EV Public Charging Charter calls for the implementation of world-class standards across the UK EV charging sector. FairCharge and the RAC are calling for it to become a minimum set of standards for Government, local authorities, landowners, and charge point operators.
The standards called for are:
- Charging is always a reliable experience
- It’s easy to find an available and working charger, wherever you are
- Faff-free payment
- Pricing is fair, open, and honest
- Fair access to rapid chargers
- All new chargers to be accessible and safe for all.
