Motability’s vision for a just transition

Andrew Miller, CEO at Motability Operations, the biggest fleet operator in the country, will deliver a keynote speech at the BVRLA’s Fleets in Charge Conference in just over two weeks.

In a presentation entitled ‘Enabling a just transition’, Andrew will explain how the company knows and understands the difficulties disabled people face in transitioning to EVs and the need to make sure electrification works for them.

Motability Operations is undertaking a wide range of activities to support customers through the transition. This spans large-scale pricing support and investment in electrification through to pilots on crowd-sourced reviewing and grid balancing, amongst others. Andrew will touch on the learnings made through these activities and share insights for delegates to take away and put into practice themselves.

Other keynote speakers at the Conference include:

  • Maria Bengtsson, Partner at EY, who will take stock of UK and global progress to zero-emission transport
  • Sebastien Albertus, Director at Europcar Mobility Group, sharing a blueprint for rental decarbonisation and how consumer habits are changing
  • Lakshmi Moorthy, Managing Director at Arval UK, exploring what solutions are arising to ensure used EV sales, charging infrastructure and van fleets can keep up

The full-day event will also feature three panel discussions with a host of expert voices and spokespeople. Panels include the Great zero-emission freight debate, Cheerful about charging?, and Retail in detail.

The Conference will take place at the QEII conference centre in London on Wednesday 20 September. Official partners for Fleets in Charge in 2023 are The AA, Arval UK, Auto Trader, Dynamon, Fleet Assist, and Mina.
