Leasing broker market update

The latest leasing broker market statistics are now available on the BVRLA Website.

They show that the combined broker fleet grew by 12% to 356,901 in the second half of 2019. Two-thirds of this increase is attributable to market growth, while one third was caused by a redistribution of contracts by one of the survey contributors.

For cars, growth was most evident in personal contract hire (PCH), up 20% on the 2018 figure. At the end of 2019, PCH was responsible for 59% of the total BVRLA broker channel fleet and 64% of new contracts.

For vans, business contract hire increased by 9% year on year. At the end of 2019 65% of the BVRLA broker channel fleet and 68% of new contracts were business contract hire.

The latest figures cover the final six months of 2019. Collection and analysis of broker channel data was delayed as both members and the BVRLA focused on other priorities during the coronavirus lockdown.
