The Energy Networks Association (ENA) has launched a free, interactive connections guidance tool to help businesses introduce or expand their electric transport assets.
The idea for the guidance builds on recommendations made by the BVRLA in its Fleet Charging Guide, and the association has worked closely with the ENA to develop a Fleet Forum.
The guidance tool supports fleets, rental branches, and work sites as organisations electrify their depots. It helps users navigate the grid connection process and signposts additional tools and resources. Members may find it useful for their own operations and can also share it with customers to help them better understand and manage the complexities of connecting to the grid.
The new guidance explains:
- How the electricity system works and the key technical terms.
- The information that should be obtained before submitting a connection application to a Distribution network Operator (DNO), and where to find it.
- How the energy networks can help customers with their decision-making process.
