The suspension of the HGV road user levy begins on 1 August 2020 and the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency is advising members not to tax vehicles early as its systems will not be updated with the reduced rate until 31 July.
Members will need to carefully consider how to manage the planning of this, as there is no bulk system for HGV taxing.
HM Treasury announced that the HGV Levy will be suspended for 12 months to provide some relief to UK and foreign hauliers, given the difficulties faced during the coronavirus pandemic.
