Driven By You: empowering fleet sales teams in EV expertise

The BVRLA’s ‘Driven By You’ training courses allow members to schedule training on a date and time that suits them and their people. Volvo UK was a recent recipient of this targeted approach, helping colleagues gain confidence in achieving their personal development goals.

The one-day session saw the BVRLA training team attend the Volvo Academy in Daventry to deliver tailored content to twelve delegates. The course focused on selling electric vehicles to fleet customers and included the following objectives:

  • Understand what factors need to be incorporated into the sales process to specifically address any underlying customer concerns with EVs
  • Know how best to position marketing and pre-sale activity to capitalise on customer interest
  • Have confidence in helping to educate customers in the EV leasing or rental process
  • Understand how to give customers the full picture when leasing or renting an EV – and avoid customer frustrations post-sale.

In preparation for the visit, trainer Jon Burdekin and the BVRLA Learning and Development Team gathered the course requirements from Volvo and created a bespoke course to suit their staff and business needs. This included Volvo-specific case studies and examples to make the session even more relevant.
