Clarity on Certificates of Conformity for zero-emission vehicles

Members have asked the BVRLA about obtaining a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to access the zero-emission mileage (ZEM) figure of a particular vehicle. The association can confirm that a CoC is not needed unless you are planning to export a vehicle.

At one stage, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) was thinking of using the CoC as the source for electric vehicle mileage range. Following discussions with the BVRLA, HMRC agreed that information from your data provider is sufficient to evidence the range.
