BVRLA response on the rules on safe use of automated vehicles on GB roads

The BVRLA has submitted a response to the safe use rules for automated vehicles

In its response the BVRLA has flagged some concerns about the suggested amendments to the Highway Code for autonomous vehicles. This comes ahead of the introduction of vehicles with Automated Lane Keeping Systems which will for the first time be defined as autonomous vehicles and which are due to come to GB roads later this year.

The BVRLA has also reiterated concerns raised in the response to the call for evidence for Automated Lane Keeping Systems (ALKS) about where education for autonomous vehicles/features should sit and has called again on the Government to undertake an urgent review into access to data which is becoming more of a concern for members as vehicles become more connected.
