BVRLA reminds members that Every Mind Matters

Public Health England and the NHS have joined forces to launch a new campaign designed to help people take steps to look after their mental health, improve mental wellbeing and support others.

The new Every Mind Matters campaign page promotes useful resources including information to help improve understanding of mental health issues and advice on how to get support.

People are also invited to take part in a short quiz to ‘Get Your Mind Plan’. The free plan aims to help people feel more in control, deal with stress and anxiety, boost mood and improve sleep.

A recent Public Health England survey revealed that more than 8 in ten (83%) people have experienced early signs of poor mental health including feeling anxious, stressed, having low mood or trouble sleeping in the last 12 months.

According to automotive charity, BEN, around 1-in-3 people contact the charity’s helpline about mental health issues including depression and anxiety.

The BVRLA will once again be raising funds for BEN at the association’s Annual Dinner taking place in March at the London Hilton. Last year’s dinner raised £10,000. Members who have not yet booked are encouraged to do so to avoid disappointment.
