With misinformation around electric vehicles creating barriers to adoption and preventing drivers from making informed decisions, the BVRLA is supporting ‘The Facts’ initiative.
Launched last year by Autotrader, in conjunction with Charge UK, the SMMT, and the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles, ‘The Facts’ is a simple collection of data points that seek to make clear, data-backed information readily available to motorists.
The latest update includes information on running costs, charge point availability, and the price gap between electric vehicles and their petrol or diesel equivalents.
Toby Poston, BVRLA Chief Executive, said: “The EV transition has been driven by the leasing and fleet sectors, enabled by targeted Government support. The transition will only be a success when all drivers can make the switch, whether looking for a new or used vehicle.
“While government support is still needed to help drive demand for used electric vehicles, this initiative is another piece to complete the puzzle. We know some consumers are finding it hard to cut through the noise and understand the benefits of zero-emission motoring. Giving people the facts means they can make an informed decision about how and when they make the switch.”
