BVRLA provides support for members preparing for GDPR

Release Date:
20/03/2018

As the weeks draw closer to the introduction of GDPR on the 25th May, the BVRLA continues to provide support and guidance to members to help with their preparations for the new rules.

The introduction of GDPR marks the most significant change to data protection legislation in over twenty years. Those failing to comply can potentially face fines of up to 4% of global turnover.

The BVRLA has produced a Guide to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to provide an overview of the changes being introduced. It looks at specific scenarios which members may encounter including database compliance, consent, data in vehicles and sharing data with third parties.

The association has also delivered an hour-long webinar, which went through working examples for rental, leasing and brokers.

The webinar, hosted by BVRLA Legal and Policy Executive Amanda Brandon and professional trainer Nigel O’Shea, can be viewed here via the BVRLA YouTube channel.

Members can also access the presentation slides here via the BVRLA website.
