Last weeks Residual Value and Remarketing (RVR) Forum, held at BCA Perry Barr in Birmingham, welcomed over 70 BVRLA members – a recent record number of delegates.
Those in attendance received an update on important industry issues including the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test (WLTP), current market conditions and alternative fuels. Presenting at the event were expert speakers from BCA Marketplace, Bowkett Auto Consulting, Cazana and Glass’s, whilst the event was chaired by the Residual Value and Remarketing Committee Chairman, Malcolm Fryer of Avis Budget Group. Presentations from the day can be downloaded from the BVLRA website and photos can be viewed on the association’s Flickr channel.
Key findings from the day included the fact that that there is a notable change in consumer buying patterns, with price being the most important factor for a customer when deciding which vehicle to obtain. There has also been a rise in values for the average car and LCV, with an increase in the take-up for new petrol and alternative fuel vehicles having been seen in Q4 2017. However, diesel vehicles have not followed the same trend and have seen an inconsistent performance in recent months.
The third and final RVR Forum of 2018 will take place at Aston Barclay in Donnington Park, on Thursday 15 November. For more information or to reserve a place, visit the BVRLA website or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
