Members asked to nominate a security contact

Release Date:

The BVRLA is asking all members to nominate a recognised security contact for their organisation. This person would act as the focal point for the dissemination of security-related information and be authorised to make decisions relating to security matters.

As part of the association’s continued work with government and law enforcement organisations, the BVRLA has been granted ‘Industry Sector Lead’ status by the Cross-Sector Security Communication (CSSC) network, which is a partnership between law enforcement, government and the private sector.

Operating under charitable status, CSSC aims to help businesses remain safe and secure by providing information that will assist them to develop robust resilience and emergency preparedness plans. This is achieved by delivering accurate, timely and authoritative messaging and information.

The BVRLA already shares security-related alerts with members who subscribe to the RISC database, but we want these important messages to get to the right people across our wider membership.
Having contact details of a named individual will enable us to apply best practice helping to protect our sector and our communities.

Members are asked to submit the name, job title, email and mobile number of their nominated security contact, and their deputy where applicable.

Details should be sent to by close of 31 May 2018.

You can find out more about CSSC here on their website.
