What you need to know about Clean Air Zones

Joining the current Zones operating across Bath, Birmingham and London, Portsmouth will be the next CAZ to go live, with the B-grade Zone* launching later this month on 29 November 2021. Oxford, Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Manchester will follow during 2022.

Members are encouraged to visit the BVRLA’s Clean Air Zone Hub for more details on compliance, exemptions and timings for specific Zones, as well as answering a selection of key questions around the topic.

London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) has been live since April 2019 but significantly expanded on 25 October 2021. The expanded Zone is 20 times larger than before and extends to the perimeter of (but not including) the North Circular (A406) and South Circular (A205) roads.

The BVRLA has created a short video to explain the changes to the London ULEZ.

*A B-grade CAZ includes charges for HGVs, buses, coaches, taxis and private hire vehicles. A full breakdown of the different grades is available on the Clean Air Zone Hub.
