The Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps, has responded positively to an open letter from the motor industry around the need for a van plan.
Business leaders and transport campaigners from seven organisations co-signed an open letter to the Chancellor ahead of last week’s Autumn Budget, outlining the industry’s key asks for fiscal support that will enable the transition to a zero-emission van market by 2030.
The letter was signed by the BVRLA, British Retail Consortium, Finance & Leasing Association, Green Alliance, Logistics UK, Renewable Energy Association, and Transport & Environment.
In response, the Secretary of State welcomes the input and vows to take the views on board when allocating departmental funding for infrastructure and grants.
