London Borough of Wandsworth – speeding fine pilot

The London Borough of Wandsworth is using cameras to enforce 20MPH on two roads in its borough - Wimbledon Park Road and Priory Lane - as part of a pilot scheme

For the initial period of the scheme, drivers who break the 20mph limit on these roads will be sent warning letters. Further into the pilot, speeding drivers will be issued with fines of £130, reduced to £65 if paid within 14 days.

It will be penalty charge notices that are issued rather than fixed penalty notice, meaning that although the speeding drivers can be fined, they will not receive penalty points on their driving licences.

For vehicles on hire or lease it will be possible to transfer liability for the penalty charge notices to the customer regardless of the duration of hire.
