Leeds seeks to delay CAZ start

Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Leeds City Council has asked the government for permission to delay its planned charging Clean Air Zone (CAZ) until January 2021 at the earliest.

The council is continuing to pay grant payments for operators of non-scheduled buses, coaches and heavy goods vehicles who have switched to, or are still intending to switch to, a compliant vehicle before the zone goes live.

The council is not currently accepting new applications for large vehicle grants.

More detailed information about the Leeds CAZ is available online, including the opportunity to sign up for email updates with alerts when grant applications re-open.
