Leasing Broker Statistics (2016 H1)

Leasing broker members of the BVRLA were responsible for 232,519 vehicles on contract at the mid-way point of 2016.

The latest BVRLA data shows that leasing brokers’ combined car and van volumes grew by 11% since the end of 2015.

Leasing brokers’ total car volumes increased by 11% to 165,280 units. Much of this growth was driven by personal contract hire, which has seen its share of leasing broker business rise to 43% at the mid-way point of the year, up from 39% at the end of 2015. Looking at H1 2016 in isolation, personal contract hire accounted for 41% of all new agreements signed by leasing brokers.

Meanwhile brokers’ total van leasing volumes increased by 13% to 67,239 units. In this sector, rapid market growth means that contract hire and finance lease volumes are still growing, even though contract hire's market share remains static at around 60%.
