The Department for Transport (DfT) has confirmed 17 cars that are eligible for the Electric Car Grant, with all qualifying for the lower-rate grant of £1,500.
It is possible that further models will be approved for the grant in due course.
Models across the Citroen, Nissan, Renault, and Vauxhall have met the required criteria, which considers the vehicle’s list price alongside the sustainability credentials of its manufacturing process.

The Electric Car Grant is available for approved vehicles with a list price under £37,000. There are two tiers to the Grant, the lower-rate £1,500 applied to confirmed vehicles to date, plus a higher-rate of £3,750 for those meeting stricter requirements.
