Throughout the month of May, the DVLA has issued reminder letters to those who need to renew their ‘Trade Licence plates’ which are expiring in June 2021.
Since December 2020, the DVLA has continued some temporary changes to help with renewal of Trade Licence plates during the COVID pandemic. These changes include:

the introduction of GOV.UK Notify to confirm receipt of the renewal application– when you provide a mobile number on your application form, the DVLA will send you a text message to confirm receipt of the application.

temporary removal of the trade motor insurance check – there is no need to provide documents to evidence valid motor trade insurance for this June 2021 renewal period.
