Bristol CAZ: final chance to share views on proposed plans

Bristol residents and affected businesses have one week left to respond to the Council’s Clean Air Zone (CAZ) consultation.

Bristol City Council is consulting on two options to improve air quality within the city centre. One option is a ‘Class C CAZ’ which would require all vehicles except private cars and motorcycles to meet minimum emission standards of Euro 4 for petrol and Euro 6 for diesel. The other option would be a ban on diesel cars in parts of the city. Last week analysis revealed either option would take over a decade to secure compliance with air quality requirements.

The deadline for consultation responses is Monday 12 August. For further details and to submit a response please visit the Bristol City Council website.

Further information about CAZs is available on the BVRLA website, including the association’s interactive CAZ map which shows current clean air plans across the UK.
