How to manage and improve mental health in the rental and leasing sector was the topic of a meeting with Liz Twist MP last week. Joined by member representatives, the BVRLA arranged the meeting in Westminster to share the positive steps being made by the sector and understand where the Government may be able to support.

Before becoming an MP, Twist represented NHS workers via a regional role at Unison. In Parliament, she has placed repeated emphasis on tackling suicide and health inequality. In the open conversation, representatives from Arnold Clark and Tusker shared examples of the efforts being made by the sector to benefit the mental health of employees and customers. In return, Ms Twist shared details of other sectors that have made positive moves to tackle related issues and reduce the stigma that mental health challenges carry.
The BVRLA will continue to seek opportunities to further this discussion and push for positive changes in this space. Members with an interest in supporting further work should contact [email protected].
