The UK’s public charging network now has over 85,000 electric vehicle chargepoints, spread across nearly 43,000 locations. That is according to the latest data from Zapmap.
Data for August shows that over 1,000 new chargers were installed last month, contributing to the 11,464 charge points installed so far in 2025. About half (5,594) of these installations have been of slow chargers (less than 8kW), suggesting growth in on-street charging solutions typically found in residential areas.
These uplifts mean the total public charging network has grown 25% since August 2024.
Vicky Read, CEO of charging firm association, Charge UK, said: “This new milestone is further proof that the sector is doing its part for the transition. With a commitment to invest £6bn through to 2030, ChargeUK members are rolling out infrastructure ahead of demand.
