Parliament is currently in recess as the political parties align on their policy priorities, values and respective activities as part of Party Conference season.
The BVRLA will be representing member views and engaging with Members of Parliament, industry stakeholders and policymakers over the coming weeks, with an active presence at the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat events.
Concluding today (20-23 September) the Liberal Democrat Conference in Bournemouth was attended by members of the association’s Policy & Public Affairs team. An overview of the BVRLA’s presence is available via LinkedIn now.
Attention turns to the governing party this weekend, with the Labour Conference in Liverpool running from Sunday 28 September to Wednesday 1 October. The BVRLA has invested in exhibition space in order to maximise the opportunity to engage with the decision makers and influential voices in attendance. In particular, the team will be discussing the ongoing destination charging campaign – Bon VoyCharge – as well as the used electric vehicle market and where the industry and government need to collaborate on solutions for long-term success.
Completing Party Conference season for the BVRLA will be the Conservative event in Manchester from 5-8 October. Again, colleagues from the policy and public affairs team will represent member views with those in attendance, seeking to generate awareness for ongoing campaigns and push for support in the Houses of Parliament.

Members wishing to engage further with the BVRLA’s work in this space are encouraged to joining the Industry Champions programme, or enquire about joining the Campaigns Working Group.
