Autohorn hosts MP visit

BVRLA member Autohorn Fleet Services recently welcomed Luke Charters, MP for York Outer, to its headquarters as the business marked 30 years of operation. The visit highlighted the company’s role and its contribution to the regional economy, while also drawing attention to the BVRLA’s Bon VoyCharge campaign.

As part of the visit, discussions focused on the importance of rental services to local communities and businesses, alongside the challenges posed by inadequate EV charging infrastructure. Destination charging – the availability of chargepoints at locations such as hotels and attractions was a key theme, with the BVRLA continuing to call on government and local authorities to address this significant gap in provision.

The Bon VoyCharge campaign car was also on site, providing an opportunity for the MP to show his support by signing the vehicle and recognising the importance of creating an inclusive, equitable, and accessible charging network.

Commenting on the visit, Tom McLennan, BVRLA Director of Policy and Public Affairs, said: “Visits like this highlight the crucial role our members play in supporting local economies while also driving the national transition to cleaner, more sustainable transport. Autohorn is a great example of a business rooted in its community but with reach across the country. For these businesses to thrive we need the right policy support for fleets to ensure a healthy and sustainable used EV market, for instance. We appreciate Luke’s time to hear these concerns and priorities.”
