The BVRLA's Fleets in Charge Conference brought together fleet and automotive professionals last week to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the UK's transition to zero-emission mobility.
Throughout the day, speakers and delegates discussed the need for greater clarity, collaboration and consistency across policy, infrastructure and the wider market. From the future of the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mandate and charging infrastructure to battery health, taxation and the used EV market, the conference highlighted both the progress being made and the issues that continue to require close collaboration between industry and Government.
Discussions focused on the need for charging infrastructure that is affordable, accessible and fit for purpose, stronger support for the electric van market, greater confidence in used EVs and the importance of creating a healthy long-term EV ecosystem that works for businesses, consumers and manufacturers alike. Speakers also reflected on the different pace of transition across market segments, recognising that cars, vans, fleet, rental, public charging and the used market all face different challenges and require different solutions.
Delegates praised the quality and breadth of the programme, with feedback highlighting the relevance of the discussions, the calibre of speakers and the opportunities for networking.
The BVRLA would like to thank everyone who attended, along with chair Imogen Bhogal and the expert speakers who shared their insight and experience throughout the day. Thanks also go to event partners Allstar, The AA, Autotrader, AVILOO, Fleet Assist and Nexus Vehicle Management, together with exhibitors ECHOES, Jaama, Targa Telematics, The Charge Scheme and Volteras for their support.
